Her Wisdom Era was built on the belief that Latina women in midlife carry stories the world needs to hear. We created this space because those stories deserve a home, and because every voice that joins this conversation makes the whole community richer and more resonant.
We are opening our publication to fellow writers whose work lives in the same emotional and cultural territory as ours. If you write about the messy, luminous, layered experience of being a woman in the middle of her life, and if your Substack already reflects that commitment, we would love to hear from you.
We review every submission personally. You will hear from us within two weeks of your submission date, whether or not your essay is selected for publication.
Our Take on AI:
We use AI responsibly. Her Wisdom Era publishes human-written essays, and we welcome contributors who use AI tools as part of their writing process for things like brainstorming, grammar checks, translation assistance, or light editorial feedback, because we understand that many professional writers do, and we do not believe that using a tool to organize your thoughts or catch a typo diminishes the authenticity of your work. What we do not accept is an essay that was primarily generated by an AI tool (we can tell!) and submitted as your own, even if you edited the output afterward, or an essay where a short idea was expanded by AI into a full-length piece, because the resulting work belongs to the tool and not to the writer. Our editorial team reviews every guest essay for voice, originality, and emotional resonance before publication. By submitting a guest essay to Her Wisdom Era, you confirm that the work is original, written primarily by you, and that any AI assistance was limited to the acceptable uses described here.
